About

Cherryville Community Food & Resource Society (formerly known as Cherryville Community Food Bank) became a society in 2010. Initially, the Cherryville Gospel Church started and supported an annual program in 1971 where local families in need could receive a hamper and gifts at Christmas time. Expanding on this concept, the food bank was founded and continued to grow within the community of Cherryville, helping families and individuals on a regular basis, promoting food security. As part of our growing vision, we expanded our mission statement to “Bridging resources and services to support rural living including but not limited to food bank services, aging-in-place, child and youth programs, work opportunities, mental health supports and other identified needs within the Cherryville community”.

Our organization values community building and connectedness. We strive to create opportunities for Cherryville residents through employment and volunteer opportunities, services and resources, giving back to community via donations and/or time, raising awareness, and forging long-lasting partnerships. CCFRS has a range of services available, check out our Programs pages for more details and/or subscribe to our monthly newsletter to stay informed!
